III-b. Professional Participation

Since arriving at UN-Kearney, I have joined the Nebraska Library Association and presented at the NLA's College & University Library Section conference in May 2009 (See Appendix III-a-9).  I have also continued my role as a reviewer and Editorial Board member for the peer-reviewed e-journal, Communications in Information Literacy (see Appendix III-b-2).

While at Regent University, I was a member of  the Virginia Library Association and presented at the VLA's Annual Conference in 2008 (See Appendix III-a-7 and Appendix III-a-8).  I was also elected vice-chair of the Tidewater Automated Reference Services Librarians, a subcommittee of the Virginia Tidewater Consortium. 

In my former position at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I was elected as a member of the Executive Committee for the VTLS Users’ Group and coordinated the logistical details for hosting the 2006 annual meeting at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  As the event coordinator, I made arrangements for lodging, entertainment, transportation, and presentation rooms and technology.  This successful meeting included 38 guests from 7 different countries and 4 continents (see Appendix III-b-1).
